World Environment Day: June 5, 2023
SPADE organized a one-day sensitization program under the Global Programme India supported by CARITAS India & CARITAS Germany.
The villagers of Takipur Aabad in the jurisdiction of Bapuji Block of South 24 Parganas under Sundarbans areas participated in the programme. Here, it is a fact that Environmental Degradation and Deforestation is a part of daily life of some local people. The awareness promotion programme was jointly organized by SPADE and Alor Disha – a local Farmers Producers’ Organization ((FPO). About 50 farmers, both- men and women participated in the programme.
The participants became aware of the dangers of deforestation and excessive use of plastic, particularly the carry bags. Together they took the oath to plant trees and reduce the use of plastics in their daily life.
