5. Promotion of Income Generation Activities: Training Program on Kitchen Garden: Samity conducts Training Program on Kitchen Garden on a regular basis for its members. The SHG members are presently practicing the scientific way of Kitchen Garden. As a result, the family members are getting some nutrition through the home-grown and fresh vegetables. Also some extra income is being generated from the sale of excess vegetables.
Alternative Cropping Pattern: Awareness generation program are conducted to encourage alternative crop pattern are encouraged to cope with the recurring flood in this area. The crop damage is a regular affairs and the attention is focused on the crops, which can be taken home before the flood. The groundnut cultivation is proved to be the best alternative solution for reducing the agricultural loss due to flood. The federation through its SHGs had sensitized the people for groundnut cultivation in Nabadwip area and people are now much benefited through this.
Handloom Weaving: Nabadwip was famous for its traditional handloom products for special Tant Sharee. But the Handloom Weavers are being compelled to leave this profession for recurring loss in this business. Almost all the families of SHG members were engaged in handloom weaving. The SHG members were encouraged to revive this business again in a more organized manner and independently through capacity building on entrepreneurship and the loan for working capital.

In addition to the above activities the Federation has also arranged rallies and cultural programmes at the cluster level on various occasions. The members participated in the Drama in all the 5 GPs of intervention on Early Warning and HIV/AIDs. The Federation has planted and distributed seedlings to the community in two GPs through the SHG for forestry and environment protection.
The SHG members took initiative in Smashing and forcible eradication of dens of brewing illegal country liquors in one spot of Nabadwip Area.
The Federation has celebrated the following auspicious occasions to aware the roles and responsibilities of the community on different social issues, Women Rights and empowerment, etc.
